I don't know if the show is airing today, but I've been invited to come be a guest on a show on USC TV, or TrojanVision. They're going to show a movie I made and then ask me questions about it. Pretty basic stuff. So, if anyone has channel 8 in LA, let me know and I'll tell you when I'm going to be on

Now if I could only decide what to wear!

Congratulations!

You make the doll films, right? You have such a wonderful imagination & I loved looking at your website.

Hope this is an opportunity that will help you to continue doing what you love. [img]graemlins/heart.gif[/img]

<font size="2" face="Verdana, Helvetica, sans-serif">Hmm... I did make one movie about dolls, it was a spoof of a horror movie. Is that what you're talking about?

I finished the show--it was a really short taping. I just went on and they asked me a couple of questions about the format, shooting in black and white, what I would change if I could, why I chose to use running as a metaphor for a crime, that sort of thing. Only one question threw me: "So what can you tell us about how your film is a statement on racism in America?"

HUNH?

I'm sure I looked really confused. Then I realized they were talking about the fact my lead was African American and the "villain" of the film was white. Oh. I told them I wasn't trying to make a metaphor about racism--I just cast Victor because he was the best who auditioned. I think the hosts were pretty disappointed in me. But personally, I don't feel I have enough personal experience with racism to make an adequate movie about it. I just wanted to shoot an action movie, if people want to make it a statement on society then they can draw their own conclusions. Now sexism, I have plenty to say about that.

What is your movie about?
<font size="2" face="Verdana, Helvetica, sans-serif">My film was called "Run." It tells two parallel stories. One is of a professional athlete running his "big race" against a competitor. The other is of the same athlete shooting a man and running from the police. In the end, you find out the man he shot at the beginning was his wife's kidnapper and he was running to save her. And that his wife was kidnapped to force him to lose the big race you were watching at the same time. I hope that's not too confusing . It's more of a visual idea. If I could get my FTP to work, I could post some of my films for you guys to watch. They're all really short.

Bren - Thanks . I hope so--maybe a producer will see this show and think, "Gee, maybe I should hire her..." Otherwise, it's going to be pretty hard for me to get a job in this town.
